ADVANCED CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR TEAM COACHES

Schemas in Team Coaching Dynamics

20 ICF Continuing Coach Education hours · all Core Competency · ICF CCE accreditation in progress

Developed & delivered by Daniela Aneva, MCC, ACTC, CSS, EMCC ESIA

Every team carries patterns it cannot see. The meeting where everyone agrees and nothing changes. The alliance no one names. The silence that follows a leader’s request for honesty. These moments are rarely about one person. They are schemas: individual patterns that meet under pressure and become the team’s shared way of protecting itself.

This five-week programme is for coaches who already work with teams and want a precise, ethical way to recognise those dynamics, work with them inside a clear coaching agreement, and help the team build healthier ones that last. It is built on Daniela’s new book Schemas in Team Coaching, which is the course text.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO

  • Explain how individual schemas, coping styles and modes combine into shared team dynamics, using the Schemas in Team Coaching Model.
  • Contract for pattern work with the leader, the team and the sponsor, and hold a clear line between team coaching and therapy.
  • Create and repair psychological safety when belonging and safety schemas are triggered, paying attention to power, alliances and sub-groups.
  • Notice and steady your own schemas as team coach, so you stay present when the room heats up.
  • Listen for team modes and interpersonal patterns, and reflect them so the team recognises itself as one system.
  • Use the Six Movements (Notice, Name, Honor, Choose, Rehearse, Embed) to help teams change and make the change stick.

THE FIVE LIVE SESSIONS

  • 21 January 2027: Foundations: From Individual Schemas to Team Dynamics
  • 28 January 2027: Agreements, Trust and Safety
  • 4 February 2027: Presence and Listening for Collective Patterns
  • 11 February 2027: Evoking Team Awareness
  • 18 February 2027: Facilitating Team Growth and Integration

Sessions 1 to 4 run 12:00 to 2:00 PM ET and Session 5 runs 12:00 to 3:00 PM ET, all on Thursdays, live on Zoom, with demonstrations, triad practice and a final practice lab. Before each session you complete a guided-study block built on the book: reading, a short written reflection and, in the first four blocks, an applied assignment that puts a tool from the book to work on a real team. Daniela gives written feedback, and a verbal knowledge check follows in the session debrief.

IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR YOU?

It is the right fit if you hold an ICF credential (ACC, PCC or MCC), are renewing your ACTC, are working toward the ACTC, or coach intact teams as an internal coach, and you already have at least one team coaching engagement behind you or underway.

This is not an introduction to team coaching, and it is not schema therapy training. It is advanced team coaching practice with clear boundaries.
